The Fairfield Fire and EMS proudly announces the arrival
of one of the finest Emergency Medical Response vehicles
available today. A brand new HORTON Model 553B ambulance
has arrived for driver training and radio installation.
Prior to being placed in service however, the finishing
touches such as decals and equipment stocking must be
completed.
After 8 months of careful review and sales demonstrations,
the review committee presented their recommendation
to the Fire Company Board of Directors on December 18,
2002, to place an order for the vehicle. At an estimated
cost of $126, 000, this vehicle will provide state-of-the-art
services to or 1,429 Ambulance Association members and
their families, as well as any party in need of care
and transportation by the Fairfield Fire and EMS organization.
This organization made up of your neighbors who give
freely of their time and expertise to provide VOLUNTEER
services to their community, responded to 467 calls
for help in 2002. You, too, can be a proud part of this
piece of American heritage. Come out and join us and
help us ensure that the fire protection, emergency medical
services, and continuing community good will prevail
in Fairfield.
Any Tuesday evening we can be found at the Fire Station.
Stop in and visit and see the new addition to our services.
