Dear Friends and Neighbors;
You may have already heard or read that Fairfield Fire
& EMS has a 2005 KME Fire Engine on order. We will
be accepting delivery shortly to replace a 27 year-old
engine. When fully equipped, this engine will cost our
department approximately $365,000.
Adams County is one of the fastest growing areas in
Pennsylvania. Over 1000 new homes are planned for the
greater Fairfield area alone in the next two or three
years. This will have a great impact upon Fairfield
Fire & EMS because it will dramatically increase
our call load. Anticipating this growth, a decade ago
we began making plans to insure that we would be able
to continue to provide the high level of service that
has been the hallmark of our organization.
This engine will also be the first in Adams County equipped
with a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS). Some advantages
of this CAFS system are:
1. Quicker suppression of the fire using less water,
resulting in less fire and water damage to your home
or business;
2. Expansion of the fire suppression capability by 4
to 5 times, which around this area is a big help due
to the lack of hydrants;
3. Fire fighting hose is lighter due to the introduction
of compressed air into the lines, increasing hose line
mobility and reducing firefighter fatigue.
The 2005 KME engine is a state of the art piece of equipment
but like everything else it does come with a high price
tag. This fire engine, fully equipped, is going to cost
the Fire Company around $365,000.00. This is where the
fire company needs your help. We are asking for each
household to donate at least $100.00 and every business
in our area to donate $500.00 or more to help cover
the cost of this new fire engine. If you cant
donate the above request anything will be appreciated.
You are not taxed for your fire and emergency services.
Last year our members donated over 13,000 hours of their
time to raise funds and deliver fire & EMS services.
We now solicit your help in paying for this new engine,
which will be such a great asset to our area. Please
send your tax-deductible donation to Fairfield Fire
& EMS. We appreciate your continued support.Thank
You for Your Support!
