December 4, 2006 - Structure Fire
On Monday evening, at approximately 1900 hours, Adams Company 2, 3, and Frederick County Station 6 were alerted for a reported house fire. En route to the location, Assistant Chief 3 arrived and reported fire showing. E2-1 arrived and went to work with an attack line, backup line, and vent crew. Additional units arrived and provided needed support. This was the first time we have used Compressed Air Foam (CAFS) on a structure fire and we were all very impressed with the results. With a well-involved first floor, there were no flare-ups and the suppression capability was outstanding. Approximately 4000 gallons of water was used, half of which was from Tower 6 from Emmitsburg Maryland. Units cleared in about 3 hours. Congratulations to a job well done by all personnel!
